About the Team: We are a team of recreational paddlers from mixed backgrounds. Our members consist of women with varying degrees of fitness. Some are breast cancer survivors, battling MS, and various other life challenges.
Many of us have been with the team for ten or more years. For the most part we enjoy the fresh air, the exercise and the camaraderie. Some of our members have race experience, but most prefer to remain recreational. Many of us enjoy other activities such as pickleball and golf.
Our team has participated in various Ladysmith waterfront events such as Pirate’s Day and the Sea Life Festival.
Coaches: Marnie Craig, Lesley Lambert
Captains: Joan Phillips, Gwen Burton
Steers: Pam Fraser, Gill Seal-Jones, Vince Lambert, Ian Smith, Heather Nichols
Recruitment: Our boat is currently full for the 2024 paddling season, but send us a note if you’d like to join the wait list.
Although we are predominately a female team with a couple of male steers, we are not gender specific. Our ages range from 30’s to late 70’s. A high fitness level is not required, but learning to paddle correctly reduces the chance of injury.
